You're a Croft (Tomb Raider Reborn Contest)

My Submission for the Tomb Raider 2013 Contest.

I love Lara Croft. She is by far my most favourite female video game character.
I'm terribly excited for this game, I love the gritty realistic reinterpretation of the character and the genre.
I think we all love origin stories. I for one love seeing a character learn how to be the person we know they're going to end up being. So when I saw the trailer for the game specifically the scene where Lara and the Captain exchange the dialogue:

"You can do it Lara... after all... you're a Croft."
"I don't think I'm that kind of Croft..."
"Sure you are. You just don't know it yet."

I got chills, and I knew that this is what the poster had to be about, more than just a single scene, more than just a story, it had to be about Lara's transformation.
I chose Lara's first kill as the major catalyst for her transformation. I think when you take your first life, whether for survival or otherwise, it changes who you are, for better or for worse. For that reason I decided to base my poster around that idea. It is after Lara's first kill that she really realises who she is underneath this seemingly frail exterior. She becomes strong, she becomes a survivor, she becomes
Lara Croft.
